This product is very disappointing and the build construction is simply cheap. I have tried two of them and both times the light does not work (probably because it is absurdly located at the end of the tray and prone to all types of damage). Secondly - simply put - it does not have USB 3.0 speed. Tried on a number of machines, SSD's and other hard drives and the speed is simply not there. Wasted a lot of time running back and forth with these two failed units and all could have been avoided if manufacturer had accurately /described/advertised its product.

I'm handy, but not a computer technician. It was easy to open this up, install a hard drive, close it up again, and start using it. Picked it based on the good reviews I'd already seen. Although it came with a driver disk, I just let Windows install the drivers automatically. This is always what I prefer doing because who knows what crapware a manufacturer's disk will try to install. Works just fine.

This enclosure gives great USB2 throughput but even better eSATA performance. I was very impressed with how well the enclosure kept the drive inside cool. I was happy that they include the eSATA cable! USB cable is provided but if your computer does not proved 500ma current, you may have to purchase a power adapter. Most newer computers and laptops meet this requirement so NO POWER ADAPTER would be needed.
