I bought the notebook in january and I am very pleased with it. It works just fine, I never had a problem. It came with Windows 7 starter edition preinstalled and I repartitioned the disk with Windows 7 corporate edition, which I had a license from my work and Fedora Linux 13. To my surprise drivers were easy to find, except wireless card for linux, which by the way is realtek 8191 (but 8192 works just fine). If you are a Linux user like me I strongly do not recommend to install post fixes with yum update, especially network manager. If you do the network card won't work anymore.
If I had to point out a negative aspect of the notebook, that would be the few usb ports it has, only two. I have a usb mouse and a pendrive and that's it. If I want to use more usb devices then I have to add a usb hub.
I'm planning to change the hard disk to 500gb and elevate the memory to 4gb. I like when you can upgrade so easily your equipment.
The screen is really good, the numeric pad is useful. Speakers are alright. It comes with a HDMI port and a SD cards reader. If you are planning to buy this notebook I suggest you do it. You will not be disappointed.

I bought this laptop today at best buy because my other laptop (a compaq presario) kept overheating. It would get so hot and if I was downloading a movie or anything, it would get really loud and sometimes shut off. I didn't have a large budget, and I found this at best buy for $479. It had good reviews in consumer reports, and my choice was between this and the dell inspiron. I bought this because it was about $70 cheaper, had 80 more gigs of hard drive space and an extra gig of ram, plus, it had a built in webcam. It's great for what I need it for (so far) which is homework, downloading movies/music, light video editing, and general every day web browsing. I will say though that the webcam sucks. It is very dark (even with lots of lights on around me) and it's very fuzzy. I'm kind of disappointed because it was one of the selling points for me, to have the webcam built in, but it looks like I will have to use my logitech pro still. I will try and play around with the settings though and see if that will help any.

Overall though I am still giving this a 5 star review because of the fact that the price I paid today was great for what I am getting. It is perfect for what I need it for and I would definitely recommend it to a friend.

However, I have only had it for a few hours lol so if things change I will update this review.
