I ordered one of these mugs and ended up returning it for three reasons.

First, the mug was a bit too small for my tastes. This shouldn't have been surprising, as the size is clearly labeled, but going from my old 20-ounce mug to this was a bit off-putting. Second, the handle, probably because of the size reduction, just felt awkward and difficult to hold. Third, I didn't like that the mug was made in China, because really I just don't trust it.

I ended up going to Crate and Barrel and getting some double-wall glass mugs, which were actually made in America, and cost a third of what I paid for this mug. So the glass mugs were cheaper, supported the American economy better and probably safer as they're pure glass.

As for this mug, the color was very vibrant, so that's a plus.

We bought these in four colors and not only are they beautiful they are highly functional. They do not get hot to the touch after heating in the microwave; they keep the coffee or tea hot for an extended period and they are of a perfect design for holding: not too heavy and yet sturdy with a non tip-able base. Add in that they are dishwasher safe and you get a perfect cup at a decent price. My other Le Creuset products lasted over 30 years so I'm sure we'll be sipping out of these till death do us part. I suggest you buy extra so you don't have to listen to the bickering over who should have to use the old mugs when the dishwasher doesn't get run on time.

I really like this mug. It is comfortable to hold and the orange flame color is fun. I hope to order a few more to make a matching set one day.
